The Indianapolis Zoo offers an incredible atmosphere for your guests to dine with dolphins and pet sharks, plus wander gardens, among other unique experiences. Here are a few more perks to hosting an event at the Zoo:

  • Experienced and exclusive on-site cater to handle all of your food and beverage needs.
  • Special pricing on admission tickets, parking, ride and feed tickets.
  • Event enhancers, such as a private dolphin presentation or an animal encounter, exclusively for your guests.

  • An opportunity to host a green event utilizing the Zoo’s outstanding efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle. We are a proud member of the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce’s Green Business initiative and a Green Power participant with AES Indiana.

Zoo Buyout includes:

  • Exclusive use of our unique event spaces based on group size and catering needs.
  • Private Dolphin Presentation.
  • Unlimited access until the end of the event to the Train, Carousel and Kombo Family Coaster.
  • White River Gardens entry until daily closing time.
  • Indianapolis Zoo Gift Shop remains open until the end of the event for private shopping.

Other details:

  • The Zoo remains open to the public during regular operating hours, with exclusive access for your guests after closing.
  • To access special privileges, all Zoo Buyout guests are required to wear provided wristbands.
  • Parking is not included, but discount parking is available
Say “I Do” at the Zoo

Experience breathtaking views, gorgeous gardens and a choice of memorable venues as the backdrop for your wedding related events — including wedding ceremonies, receptions and rehearsal dinners. There’s an added bonus, you can incorporate an animal encounter and staging your event at the Indianapolis Zoo helps support our animal conservation mission.


Items to avoid to protect our animals and plants: no balloons, open-flame candles, glitter, confetti, live animals, stickers or noisemakers are permitted at any event. Giveaway items are subject to approval at least one week in advance.

To ensure that everything is in its right place, setup and tear-down is allowed for 1-2 hours before and after each facility rental, depending on availability and type of event. Please remember that terms, available dates and prices are subject to change.

Admission tickets are required for all facilities during regular Zoo hours, except for events located at the Hulman Riverhouse and Polly H. Hix Institute for Research and Conservation. To ensure the health of our guests, animals and staff, the entire Zoo campus is smoke-free and tobacco-free. This includes e-cigarettes.
