Discover Amazing Animals During a Wild Encounter

With giraffe feeds, elephant bathing and cheetah racing, the Plains area at the Zoo has a lot for guests to discover.

Now, with the new Wild Encounter Station located just inside the entrance to Plains, guests will have the chance to get up close and personal with the smaller side of African wildlife!

Throughout the summer months, visitors can meet — and sometimes touch — amazing animals, including snakes, turtles, hedgehogs and maybe even a parrot or two. Each animal in the Wild Encounter is an ambassador for their species and provides guests with a unique way to connect with nature. Plus, visitors who are curious to learn more can investigate different animal artifacts.
