Excuse our mess. We’re making way for new and exciting exhibits!
Last year, the Zoo announced the scheduled removal of the Kombo Family Coaster and the Skyline ride. With the coaster now removed, the second phase of the project now focuses on the removal of the Skyline, which is adjacent to several animal exhibits and popular areas. This project, although temporary, impacts the ability to view some animals and enjoy other features normally accessible to Zoo guests.
The project primarily will impact the Simon Skodjt International Orangutan Complex (IOC), which will be open for guests intermittently during the scheduled construction period (Now-May 14). A current list of exhibits impacted is below, along with maps of those locations. Noise associated with the construction may cause some animals to choose to stay in their indoor habitats during this time, even if their exhibit remains open.
It is never a convenient time to take an animal off exhibit. However, the project will allow the Zoo to create wonderful new exhibits and add a fresh look for all guests. Thank you for your patience as the Zoo implements these necessary upgrades.
Please remember: Road construction and lane restrictions continue along Washington Street, so please consider the potential for delays as you arrive at the Zoo.
Because of this disruption, your tickets may be used anytime within one year from time of purchase. Simply bring your unused ticket to the Visitor Services Center on the day you’d like to visit, and we’ll exchange it. Questions? Contact [email protected].
