Directions to the Zoo

The Indianapolis Zoo is located at 1200 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222 along the banks of the White River. Conveniently located less than a mile west of downtown in beautiful White River State Park, visitors can easily access the Zoo whether they're coming by vehicle, on a bicycle or on foot​.

From the north: Take Interstate 65 south to Exit 114. Go south on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. St./West St. to Washington St. Turn west (right) on Washington, then travel west for one mile.

From the south: Take Interstate 65 north to I-70 west to Exit 79A (West St.).  Go north on Missouri St./West St. to Washington St. Turn west (left) on Washington, then travel west for one mile. 

From the east: Take Interstate 70 west and exit on West St., then go north to Washington St. Turn west (left) on Washington, then travel west for one mile. 

From the west: Take Interstate 70 east to Exit 79A (West St.).  Go north on Missouri St./West St. to Washington St. Turn west (left) on Washington, then travel west for one mile.

Parking

​​​​​​​Zoo members can enjoy free parking each time they visit the Zoo. Parking for non-members is $7 for regular vehicles and $15 for large vehicles, including RVs and campers.​ Parking at the Indianapolis Zoo is available on a first-come, first-served basis. On busy days, additional parking opportunities may be available at White River State Park and IUPUI (corner of West Michigan Street and Barnhill Drive). Please note: Additional parking fees may apply.

The Zoo is also an option for parking during special events in White River State Park and throughout downtown Indianapolis. Non-Zoo special events parking is $7 for members and $10 for non-members.

We recommend that guests stow items out of sight and lock vehicles at all times. The Zoo is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
