​Animals and All That Jazz presented by Central Indiana Honda Dealers

​July 7, 14, 21, 28; Aug. 4 • 5:30-8:30pm

Bring your friends to sit back and enjoy a longstanding Thursday night tradition at the Indianapolis Zoo. This summer concert series features sensational music from all genres of jazz. 

Come play early at the Zoo and stay late for a night of jazz with music beginning at 5:30pm plus arts and entertainment presented by Macy's! Walk the Zoo while listening to the music, show off your moves on the dance floor presented by Dunkin' Donuts or simply enjoy a relaxing evening with friends. Experience the ambience of the Zoo after hours along with:

  • Music: Performed live from 5:30-8:30pm

  • Food: Great specialty food stations offer a new menu available for purchase each night

  • Beverages: A full bar, featuring beer sampling from Sun King Brewery

  • Animals: On exhibit until 7pm

  • Rides: Available until 7pm with member specials available on a different ride each night​

2016 Lineup​

July 7: Tucker Brothers Band

The dynamic and vivacious vocals of Brenda Williams returns to the Zoo, bringing her soulful sound to mainstream jazz.

July 14: Gene Markiewicz DM Jazz 8

This high-energy group with a big band feel take great pride in giving a traditional jazz take on great standards plus classic and contemporary pop, even some original arrangements. ​​

July 21: Ty Causey

With a sound reminiscent of Marvin Gaye, this piano-driven combination of singer-songwriter, indie rock and a hint of jazz brings a variety to every show. 

July 28: Craig Brenner and the Crawdads

The beat goes on when Latin bridges American folk tradition. The New Orleans-style sound is perfect for chillin' out on a summer evening.

Aug. 4: Cathy Morris and Brazilian Jazz

We'll end the series on a high note! Zoo audiences will certainly remember Cathy's unique electric violin and vocal performances. Plus, this popular big band blends talented musicians to perform innovative jazz and pop arrangements.

Seating

​Concerts are weather protected under the Zoo's beautiful Party Pavilion. Tables are open on a first-come, first-serve basis. Lawn chairs are welcome! ​

Admission

  • Concerts are free for Zoo members and included with regular admission.

  • Make the most of your day by coming out early and staying late.

  • Save $2 at the front gate by bringing a Dean's milk jug to recycle.
