Male sea horses have a brood pouch, and he carries the eggs until they latch, then releases fully formed, miniature seahorses into the water. Fins on their back can flutter up to 35 times per day as the propel themselves through the water. Despite their big bellies, our seahorses are not pregnant, which is a common question for guests.
