Found exclusively in the bush and woodlands of Africa, these birds are often found hanging upside down in trees, using their long, curved beaks to hunt out insects in crevices. They have bright white spots down each side of their long diamond-shaped tail. Green woodhoopoes live in groups of 4-8 at a time, rotating breeding pairs while the rest of the “family” helps care for fledglings.
