Animals And All That Jazz summer concerts

As the summer heats up, chill out with the smooth sounds of live jazz during our wildly popular Thursday night concert series!

One of the Zoo’s longest-running events, this series will showcase a diverse lineup of musicians from across the Midwest, covering jazz genres from classic to contemporary, smooth soul to blues, and even blending in the sounds of pop and R&B.

All performances will take place under the Bicentennial Pavilion. Located near the Zoo’s entrance, this stunning space offers an open-air atmosphere as well as weather protection — a perfect place for attendees to relax for an evening of music, rain or shine.

Best of all, concerts are included with Zoo admission. Come early and enjoy a full day of Zoo fun, then stay late for a night of live jazz music! And, enjoy the ambiance of the Zoo after-hours along with:

  • Live music from 5:30-8:30pm
  • Specialty food that features a delicious new menu for purchase each night
  • A full bar for those 21 years and older provided by Zink Distributing, official beer provider, Hotel Tango Distillery, official cocktail provider, and Daniel’s Vineyard. official wine provider
  • Animals on exhibit until 7pm
  • Bring a chair to relax and enjoy the music! A limited number of tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

*Members receive buy two, get two free ride tickets (limit of 20 tickets) from 5-7pm every night of the concert series.

    DINNER: Paella (gluten free, vegetarian upon request)

    • Spanish style chicken and sausage dish with spring peas, fire roasted bell peppers, and saffron rice.
      • Vegetarian option: Will have fried artichokes, and Olives.

    DESSERT: Lemon Berry Cream Cake (vegetarian)

  • June 22

    DINNER: Midwest BBQ Bash! (Gluten Free)

    • Indiana smoked pork Ribs, slow cooked, falling off the bone, with a house made BBQ sauce.
    • Served with tater salad, watermelon, and a crisp summer slaw.
      • Vegetarian option Meatless Ribs

    DESSERT: Push Pops!

  • June 29

    DINNER: Churrasco Carnival

    • Skewered Midwest beef, pork, chicken, vegetables, and Indiana corn, grilled on an open wood burning fire.
    • Served with a cool Brazilian chopped salad.
      • Vegetarian Option will be fire roasted yams.

    DESSERT: Funnel Cake Fries (Vegan)

    • With raspberry sauce & powder sugar.

     

  • July 6

    DINNER: Burgers & Brats

    • 8oz grilled burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, and American cheese on a sesame seed bun, or the classic Bratwurst with caramelized onions on a brat bun, both served with Fries.
      • Vegan/Vegetarian option is IMPOSSIBLE BURGER.

    DESSERT: Chocolate Drumstick Ice Cream Cone

  • July 13

    DINNER: Alabama BBQ Chicken Drummys (Gluten Free)

    • Smoked chicken drumsticks with Alabama’s infamous white BBQ sauce, sweet summer slaw, and buttered corn.

    DESSERT: Hummingbird cake (vegetarian)

    • Three layers of banana cake with pineapple are baked and iced with a cream cheese icing covered with roasted pecans and coconut.
  • July 20

    DINNER: Yakitori (Gluten Free, and vegetarian upon request)

    • Grilled Asian marinated chicken with green onions.
    • Steamed brown rice, and a cool cucumber ginger salad.
      • Vegetarian option is Tofu Yakitori.

    DESSERT: MOCHI! (vegetarian)

    • Choose from chocolate, strawberry, or green tea flavors.
  • July 27

    DINNER: JAMBALAYA!

    • Classic Creole rice dish with marinated chicken and smoked sausage, rice, Louisiana trinity vegetables & spices, cooked over an open fire.
      • Vegetarian Option will be Jambalaya with red beans.

    DESSERT: Sugar Cream Pie with rhubarb compote & Chantilly cream.

  • August 3

    DINNER: Hatch Green Chili Carnitas (Gluten Free with corn tortilla upon request)

    • Chef’s south Texas pork carnitas served with Hatch Chili sauce, avocado, cabbage, cilantro, red radish, and cilantro on white corn or flour tortillas.

    DESSERT: Tres Leches Cake (vegetarian)

  • *All concerts will have the following express service options

    Mozzarella Salad (vegetarian) Mozzarella Cheese, Romaine Lettuce, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives and sliced red onion with a balsamic dressing.

    Grilled Chicken Caesar – Marinated and grilled chicken, Romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing.

    Cobb Salad – Grilled chicken, jack cheese, shredded carrot, hard-boiled egg, tomatoes, bacon, cucumber with ranch dressing.

    Chicken Caesar Wrap – Grilled chicken, creamy Caesar dressing, parmesan cheese, romaine lettuce, garlic pesto tortilla.

    Veggie Hummus Wrap (vegetarian)roasted vegetables, red pepper hummus, spinach, tzatziki sauce, whole wheat wrap.

    Italian SubHam, Salami, capicola, provolone cheese, banana peppers on a hoagie with lettuce, tomato, onion.

     

    FRUITERIA

    We will have our own FRUITERIA, which will offer fresh cut fruit & veggies, watermelon slices, agua frescas, special non-alcoholic drinks, and fun Latin inspired options.

    ** While some of the meals are gluten free, our kitchen does have nuts, flour, and shellfish, exposing our food to potential crossover contamination of these allergens.
