Do your girls love science? Give them an amazing opportunity.

Senior trainer, Lisa Oland has worked at the Zoo for 28 years. She has worked with a variety of animals from dolphins and sea lions to tigers and red pandas. One of her biggest roles has been her work with walrus. Only a handful of people in the world have as many years of experience working with these amazing pinnipeds. She will be speaking about her career at the Zoo and her work specifically with walrus.

We are inviting girls (ages 12-16 years) for a special opportunity to meet Lisa, hear about her work and have a special behind-the-scenes experience.

Want more? Learn about leading female scientists working at the Zoo’s new Global Center for Species Survival here. The Global Center is a ground-breaking partnership between the Zoo and the IUCN Species Survival Commission.

What parents are saying:

“We were very impressed with the fact that there is a Girls in Science workshop series specifically for young girls. My daughter was over-the-moon when she met Dr. Marker. Something she will always remember for the rest of her life. She wants to be just like her someday. Thank you for providing such a wonderful opportunity! Your Zoo is amazing!”

”It was beyond expectations and beyond fantastic…a truly treasured experience, memory and learning experience.”
