Hip hip hoo-RAY!

The Zoo welcomed not one, but two female cownose ray babies in August 2024. Ray pups look just like adults at birth, only smaller.

A cownose ray’s mouth is under its head. Rays take in water using their gills and filter out prey, chewing it with several rows of teeth. Discover for yourself when you feed a cownose ray at the touch tank in Oceans as part of our daily Feed a Ray experience!
