The Zoo’s Veterinary Hospital is a 15,000 square foot, fully equipped facility with patient and quarantine wards. As a Full-time Veterinary Technician, the successful candidate will join the veterinary department staff comprised of four veterinarians, two veterinary technicians, one hospital area manager, one hospital senior keeper, a commissary area manager and commissary technician to provide care for our animal collection.
Working under the direct supervision and direction of the veterinarians, the Veterinary Technician will assist in all aspects of medical care of the animal collection. Duties include, but are not limited to: administering treatments, assisting in immobilization, diagnostic and surgical procedures, radiography, ultrasound exams, endoscopy, necropsies, sample collection, drug dispensing, inventory maintenance, hospital facility and equipment maintenance, and participation in conservation and research projects.
