If your ideal job is working outside surrounded by nature, trimming grass, pulling weeds and providing care for plants, flowers, and trees, being a Seasonal Gardener at the Indianapolis Zoo is the job for you! You will help our Horticulture team care for the general landscape of our 64 acres campus, the exotic plants in our 5,000 square foot Conservatory, and 3 acres of formal gardens.
Our Seasonal Gardeners work an average of 40 hours a week, 7am to 4pm, typically from April through mid-August. During most weeks, you will be scheduled Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday shifts are required. We will provide you with a work uniform, free parking, and an awesome work environment!
Working outside in all weather conditions and temperatures is required. Seasonal Gardeners perform physically demanding tasks, and work at a fast pace. Knowledge of plants and their care, power equipment, and irrigation systems is preferred but not required. The hourly pay for this job is $8.50/hour.

High School diploma / G.E.D.
Valid Indiana driver’s license & driving record that is insurable by our insurer
Successful completion of drug testing, driving record check, & criminal history check.
