Our FACILITIES MANAGER is a full-time, salaried, “hands on” working manager position. The Manager oversees the maintenance department in the repair all equipment and systems including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Utilities and all other mechanical systems relative to the daily operation of the Indianapolis Zoo, and in a manner that is consistent with the guidelines, policies and procedures of the Indianapolis Zoo, OSHA, and other regulatory organizations. Responsible for the maintenance, appearance, and to ensure optimum levels of safety of all buildings including exhibits, public walkways, driveways, and parking areas. This role supervises eleven (11) direct reports, including: HVAC, Warehouse Operations, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, and General Maintenance Technicians.
Must be able to communicate with colleagues, vendors, and guests in an appropriate, courteous, productive manner at all times. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of leadership, and have the ability to lead and inspire the team.
