ABout African Plated Lizard

THE AFRICAN PLATED LIZARD HAS A LARGE BODY, SHORT LEGS AND ROUGH SCALES OR PLATES. ITS TAIL IS USUALLY DOUBLE THE LENGTH OF THE BODY SIZE.

Round-nosed plated lizards are prey to snakes and small mammals. Some tactics used to escape predators may be a run-and-halt tactic to confuse the predator. Another is getting a good inhale of air and digging deep burrows to hide in, creating an airtight crevice that is nearly impossible for predators to enter.
