Is regular October too humdrum, but haunted houses too creepy-crawly? Come to the Zoo for super-duper Halloween activities, amazing animals and pumpkins galore! ZooBoo is always a fun family experience for itty-bitty ghouls and goblins, as well as the bigger kids. October weather means active animals, colorful foliage and a new season to explore. Combine that with engaging, hands-free activities, spooktacular costumes and trick-or-treating — plus, the chance to boogie-woogie to a live DJ — and you’ve got an unforgettable family tradition. Woo-hoo!
Best of all, ZooBoo is free for Zoo members and included with regular admission.
The Bicentennial Pavilion is home to a whimsical village with adorable cats, fancy rats and Mayor Jack who keeps guests on their toes with his boo-worthy jokes! One of our most popular areas, we’ll be monitoring attendance in this area to ensure guests have space for social distancing. NEW in 2020, Professor Pumpkin leads mystifying science demonstrations for little witches and wizards at Pumpkin School. Guests can also visit not-so-scary creatures in Jack’s Barn presented by State Farm or the cats being fostered in Bewitching Bites. And, don’t forget to explore Pumpkin Town’s best carnivorous plant, hat and magic wand collections! Plus, the dance party is always going with Halloween hits from Patch Radio!
Visit Bewitching Bites to meet Hocus and Pocus, the friendly witch's 5-month-old foster cats. These playful young felines are available for adoption after Halloween through Indianapolis Animal Care Services.
All guests age 3 and up are required to wear a facial covering. Costume masks are allowed for children age 12 and under, but still require an additional face covering if there is an opening around the nose or mouth. For the safety of all guests, full-face makeup or costume masks are only allowed for children ages 12 and under.
Additionally, guests are urged to take their temperatures and perform health checks on their entire party before coming to ZooBoo. Find health and safety tips on wearing masks from our ZooBoo Safety Awareness partners at Ascension St. Vincent.
ZooBoo is free for Zoo members and included with regular admission. All members and guests must obtain a timed-entry ticket in advance of their visit.
