Description

Explore ZooBoo after dark with NEW extended hours until 9pm Fridays & Saturdays

Is regular October too humdrum, but haunted houses too creepy-crawly? Come to the Zoo for super-duper Halloween activities, amazing animals and pumpkins galore! ZooBoo is always a fun family experience for itty-bitty ghouls and goblins, as well as the bigger kids. October weather means active animals, colorful foliage and a new season to explore. Combine that with engaging activities, spooktacular costumes and trick-or-treating — plus new, extended hours and the chance to boogie-woogie to a live DJ — and you’ve got an unforgettable family tradition. Woo-hoo!

ZooBoo is free for Zoo members and included with regular admission. Discount tickets are available at area Donatos and Indiana Members Credit Union locations.

Pumpkin Town

The Bicentennial Pavilion is home to a whimsical village with adorable cats and fancy rats, a friendly witch and a crafty pumpkin school where fun is in session! Thrills and fun are hiding around every corner inside the Candy Corn Factory Mirror Maze. Guests can also visit not-so-scary creatures in Jack’s Barn presented by State Farm or the cats being fostered in Bewitching Bites by our friendly witch. Through the Zoo’s partnership with the Humane Society of Indianapolis, guests can learn about adopting these adorable animals after Halloween. And, don’t forget to explore the friendly witch’s carnivorous plant, hat and magic wand collections! Little witches and goblins can make a craft at the Pumpkin School. Plus, the dance party is always going with Halloween hits from Patch Radio and the fall favorite, Pumpkin Bowling!

More ZooBoo Fun

Adopt our Black Cats

Visit Bewitching Bites to meet the black cats our friendly witch is fostering this season. Tonks and Luna, our two kitty cuties, are looking for their fur-ever home, and you can adopt them after Halloween.

All Treats and No Tricks!
As you explore the Zoo, your little ghouls and goblins can collect goodies along the Trick or Treat Trail presented by Peyton Manning Children's Hospital Ascension St. Vincent.
  • Visit five treat stations in a NEW LOCATION around the Westside Cafe.
  • Allergy-friendly treats are available at each treat station upon request.
  • We proudly provide only items that are palm oil-free, contain sustainably sourced palm oil or are produced by a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, which is working to make orangutan-friendly palm oil readily available.
  • Find an orangutan-friendly Halloween candy list or check out the mobile app from our friends at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Kids are encouraged to wear costumes and bring a reusable bag to collect treats. For the safety of all guests, masks and full makeup are only allowed for children ages 12 and under.

Need an adults-only Halloween evening?

Halloween isn’t just for the little ones. Our totally reimagined Zoolala offers an evening of brews, costumes, music and more!

Zoo Animals

Mild fall temperatures mean animals will be more active!

Watch as many animals enjoy Halloween-themed enrichment and extra animal chats throughout the event. View the ZooBoo map for the full schedule.

The elephant herd gets into the Halloween spirit with the squash-splattering fun of the Elephant Pumpkin Smash! Visit the St. Vincent Dolphin Gallery where you can Meet a Sloth. Plus, stop by Pumpkin School to help create paper webs to dress up our aviaries and provide hours of fun for our birds.

  • Arrive early to visit your favorite furry friends before ZooBoo activities begin at 2pm.
  • With ZooBoo open late on Fridays and Saturdays, you can also visit Oceans, Dolphin Pavilion, Deserts Dome and Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center until 9pm on those nights.
  • Our Forests, Flights of Fancy and Plains exhibits will remain open until dusk.
Additional Parking for ZooBoo
