A trailblazer for the world’s oceans, Earle’s career spans decades dedicated to protecting marine areas and advocating for the species that call them home. Nicknamed “Her Deepness,” she has spent more than 7,000 hours underwater leading research and still holds the record for deepest untethered walk on the sea floor.
Mission Blue has been described as part action-adventure, part expose of environmental disasters. The documentary follows Earle on her campaign to create a global network of protected marine sanctuaries, her “Hope Spots.”
