The Indianapolis Prize Gala is a celebration that brings the world’s attention to the cause of animal conservation and the brave, talented and dedicated men and women who spend their lives saving the Earth’s endangered animal species.

This black-tie event brings the stories of the Winner and Finalists to life while showcasing global conservation efforts. During the event, in front of more than 1,000 of the world’s leading animal conservationists, influential executives and celebrity ambassadors, the Winner is presented with the unrestricted $250,000 award.

For the Indianapolis Zoological Society, the gathering of renowned figures in conservation underscores the organization’s ongoing commitment to solving complex global challenges. The Gala is fashioned to inspire guests to care more about animal conservation through original films shot on location around the world, and place these heroes, who often work in desolate and dangerous conditions, on the pedestal usually reserved for sports and entertainment stars.

Let’s Stay Healthy!

Due to the increase in cases of the COVID-19 virus, we strongly recommend that all guests of the Indianapolis Prize be fully vaccinated when attending the Gala and Prize outreach events. Masks are recommended when not actively eating or drinking. If you have not yet received a vaccine, we ask that you take a COVID-19 test 48 hours prior to the event you are planning to attend and to please stay home if you are unwell or experiencing any COVID symptoms.

In addition, the JW Marriott is taking the following extra safety precautions:

  • Increased the frequency of cleaning public areas including, but not limited to lobbies, elevators, door handles, luggage carts, public bathrooms and meeting spaces, using hospital-grade disinfectant.
  • Have increased the availability of hand sanitizer and have reminders of health, hygiene and proper social distancing throughout the property.
  • JW associates are regularly briefed on how to identify and escalate potential health and safety issues related to COVID-19.
  • JW associates are equipped with face masks and are required to wear that mask while on property.
  • The JW Grand Ballroom will be free of all individuals, other than hotel setup staff, for the 36 hours prior to the event.
  • Capacity for the ballroom is under 50%.
  • At all times, the JW exceeds the recommendation of 6 air exchanges per hour.  This number does vary depending on the outside temperature and humidity, but it is always more than 6 times an hour.

Thank you for helping us ensure that the Indianapolis Prize and related events are safe and healthy for all.
