Red Panda
Tucked high up in the trees of her exhibit during the summer months, most visitors do not know one of the Indianapolis Zoo’s most unique animals is ready to come out and play this time of the year. Nyma, our female Red Panda, can be seen curled up in the bare branches, hiding in her log or nibbling on her bamboo and fruit.
Winter at the Indianapolis Zoo is the perfect time for you and your family to experience our arctic and cold weather animals enjoying their natural climate. It’s also an opportunity for you to show your support of the Red Panda with a minimum donation of $50 to the Animal Amigo program, which underwrites the care of all of the animals at the Zoo by funding food, medical treatment, equipment, enrichment toys, and habitat improvement. Your support of the Red Panda and the Animal Amigo program demonstrates your commitment to preserving all threatened and endangered species and the fulfillment of the Indianapolis Zoo’s mission of advancing animal conservation.

The Animal Amigo program at the Indianapolis Zoo supports the food, care and enrichment of the creatures in our care. Your donation today helps to pay for hay for the elephants, fish for our dolphins, and the occasional sweet potato treat for our giraffes! Donors to this program are given the status as our special “Amigos” for one year following their gift.

• The above, plus a plush animal when choosing any of the following: Amur Tiger, Red Panda, Bald Eagle, Alaskan Brown Bear, Ring-Tailed Lemur, Dolphin, Polar Bear, Walrus, African Elephant, Lion, Giraffe, Rhino, Zebra, Shark or Penguin.
Donations of $150 or more receive:
• The above, plus invitation to Early Morning Walkabout
Animal Amigo donations may be made on behalf of any individual, group, school or corporation. However, please note that only one of each item will be enclosed per Animal Amigo packet.
