Research at the Indianapolis Zoo

The Indianapolis Zoo continues to support research and conservation studies conducted by our own staff on keystone species within our collection, as well as organizations worldwide that support endangered animals large and small.  When you join in our passion for the planet and make a gift to the Zoo, you not only impact the life of animals and plants in our care but you also support global research and conservation.  What we do in all ways here in Indiana truly affects life in all ways around our shared – and mutually threatened – earthly home.  Photo by Gary Cochard.

Cooperative Animal Management Programs
In addition, many members of the Zoo's professional collections staff participate with the cooperative animal management programs of the Association for Zoos and Aquariums, our professional and accreditation organization.
