Have you ever wanted to spend the night at the Zoo and learn
something too? The Indianapolis Zoo offers three distinct
school overnight programs, six
girl scout badge programs, two
even a family overnight adventure!
Requirements for Participation
• The cost for a group overnight* is $50.00 per child
and $30.00 per adult chaperone. (Adult chaperones are considered
any teacher, parent, or chaperone attending with any child.)
• Participants must be at least six years old to
participate in any overnight program.
• All participants must have a signed waiver of liability
before beginning the overnight program. Participants under the
age of 18 years will need this waiver signed by a parent or

of liability insurance.
• Group overnights require a deposit of $100.00, which is
due seven days from your date of reservation. The
remaining balance is due thirty days before the date of your

Spend the night at the zoo with your school! Our Nocturnal Adventures help teach Science curriculum in a
way like no other. Come join us on one of our thematic evenings
- choose between
Habitat Junction, Adaptation Station, or
Conservation Connection to help assist you teach these concepts
to your class!
The Bunk for a Badge program is specifically designed for
Girl Scout Juniors and Brownies! Your Scouts will have a fun time spending the night at the Zoo and
leave the next day with the badge they earned the night before. Since this
program is geared specifically toward Scouts and their parents and leaders,
we ask that you do not bring tag-alongs that are not registered as a part of
your troop. Arrival time for this program is 6pm. You may stay at the Zoo
until the Zoo closes after you finish breakfast. Want to find out

For summer ONLY! Have you ever wanted to take a trek through Africa? At
the Indianapolis Zoo, you can! During our African Summer Safaris, you will
discover the animals of Africa on this overnight adventure. This summer
safari takes place at the Zoo where you will explore the big and the small
animals of Africa. You'll take an after hours hike in the African Plains and
go behind the scenes in the Zoo Commissary while being guided by one of our
For summer ONLY! Become a Nature Detective
while discovering the Zoo’s wildlife. Explore the Zoo’s Gardens
on a sensory walk to discover nature. Visit the Zoo’s bat
exhibit and learn why bats are an important part of an
ecosystem. Take a night hike in the Desert Dome and learn about
a variety of nature’s adaptations.
family overnight at the Zoo is a perfect way to spend some
quality time together! Spend the night at the Zoo and
participate in a variety of activities designed just for
families including a craft, family game time,
and a special tour.
