Race-a-Cheetah Activity Benefits Wild Cheetahs

Race a CheetahWhile visiting the Zoo's Cheetah: The Race for Survival exhibit, Zoo guests can test their running time against the fastest animal on land.  The "Race-a-Cheetah" feature is located near the exhibit exit and features the voice and photo of Tony Stewart, Indiana native, animal fan and three-time NASCAR champion.  Guests pay a modest fee of $1.00 to run against an array of LED lights that simulate the speed of a cheetah and see how their running speed matches up!  All net proceeds from Race-a-Cheetah go the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia, Africa, to benefit the Fund's work in saving  wild cheetahs.

Thank you to our 2011 racers who made a difference for wild cheetahs by raising over $15,700.  Since Race-a-Cheetah opened in 2010, more than $27,000 has been raised! Your donations will support two cheetah orphans living at the Cheetah Conservation Fund, sponsor the care of a litter of livestock guardian dog puppies, and fund the monitoring of two wild cheetahs.  This program is part of the Indianapolis Zoo's animal conservation mission.

Help cheetahs win the race for survival by testing your racing skills during your visit!

Thanks also to The Tony Stewart Foundation for supporting cheetah conservation!

Available daily in-season, weather permitting.
