The Dolphin In-Water Adventure Program Details and Link to Online Registration

Please read the following information, including the Frequently Asked Questions page, BEFORE you register for the Dolphin In-Water Adventure.

The 90-minute long Dolphin Adventure In-Water Adventure program includes:
• A backstage classroom session dealing mainly with dolphin physical characteristics and adaptations to their aquatic life, as well as information on the training process.
• Time to change into and out of trainer outfits (light wetsuits).
• 35 minutes of poolside/in the water time with our trainers and dolphins.

This activity is in waist-depth water and does NOT include swimming.

When:  The program is now open to registered participants, with registration available on the web site.  See the Dolphin In-Water Scheduling Calendar during the online registration process or call the Dolphin Adventure phone line at (317) 630-2076 for available dates and times.  Programs do start on time and paperwork is filled out 15 minutes prior to the start of the program.  It is recommended that guests arrive 15-20 minutes before start time.  Programs begin in the Education Building directly to the right of the Zoo admission gates.

Who:  Into the immediate future, the program will accommodate eight participants and 12 observers per session.

Participants:
* Participants experience the entire program.
* All Dolphin Adventure participants must be at least 4 feet, 6 inches tall.
* Children 14 years old and older who meet this height requirement can participate without adult supervision.
* Children under 14 years old will need to be accompanied by a participating adult either in the water or as an observer.
Observers:
* Observers cannot register separately; they must be associated with a participant.
* Observers experience the classroom session and are able to watch their participant from an area near the in-water activity.
* Observers must be at least 6 years old
* Observers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a paid adult observer with a ratio of one adult per child under 14 years of age.
*Observers are friends or relatives of a participant.

We will make every effort to accommodate persons with special needs. Because of the safety needs of our dolphins and participants, availability for individuals with special needs will be determined on an individual basis, and we ask that you call us in advance for more information.  Please call (317) 630-2076, Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm. Costs:  Participant: Zoo Member $195; Non Member $215
Observer: Zoo Member $35; Non Member $45

Payment in full is required at time of registration.  Pricing is subject to change.  There will be no refunds unless the Indianapolis Zoo has to cancel the program and guests cannot reschedule.  Registration for this program is available either online or in person at the Indianapolis Zoo's Education Building.  Currently, the web site will accommodate instant access to registration, will answer most questions guests will have, and will allow the option to ask specific questions that will be answered either electronically or by phone within several business days.
