Emerging and aspiring leaders from across Central Indiana enjoyed a night of live music and dancing, fabulous food, fun and philanthropy as the Indianapolis Zoo Associate Council hosted the second Zoolala on Feb. 1. Held at White River Gardens, the theme for this year's event was "Escape to Borneo" in recognition of the Zoo's newest exhibit, the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center, which is open now!

This amazing event included entertainment from up-and-coming Nashville artist Kerri Leigh and featured DJ Lockstar, plus a mixology competition with specially crafted cocktails from 1933 Lounge, Ball & Biscuit, Platt 99: Mixology Lounge, and Thunderbird. Guests also enjoyed samplings of delicious rainforest-inspired foods, an oyster bar from the Oceanaire Seafood Room and an open bar with beer provided by Sun King Brewing Co.

Zoolala provided the perfect opportunity for young community leaders to network and engage each other in a fun social setting while also supporting the Zoo. The 2014 event raised $40,000 to further the Zoo's mission and programs.
